best move experience we ever had
The movers from Guardian were the best experience we had for moving to date. My husband and I have moved quite a few times. Most time the estimater would come into the house walk around then write a cost. Our previous experiences were repeat low ball. The quotes were low then at the end we paid more than the estimate. We were like not again when the movers would not unload until we paid them more than the estimate. When I spoke with a move consultant at Guardian asking for an estimate. I wanted to have someone to come to my house and see what we had to move. I was told that this did not need to be done with Guardian. They would provide the same cost and guarantee the rate not to exceed. On move day Steve the foreman and the mover helpers Mike and Tom arrived 7:30 a.m. This was the first time we had our movers arrive early. Guardian called the day before to confirm the movers would arrive 8-9 a.m. When these movers arrived 30 minutes before we were saying this is something good. Steve and the guys walked through our house to do what they called prepping. They also brought the moving blankets in and started to wrap the furniture. The dining room table was flipped over onto its top. Onto moving blankets that they had put down to protect the table top. Mike and Tom took our beds apart, table legs removed. They wrapped all of our wooden furniture with the moving blankets. We have leather sofas, loveseats, and overstuffed chairs. They wrapped plastic stretch wrap all around the furniture leather and cloth. The dining room chairs were blanket wrapped and plastic wrapped. The bannister on our stairs was covered with the moving blankets for protection. We have white carpet in the den and rug runners were put down where they would walk. This was all done before they started loading the truck. Mike and Tom started and continued to take the furnniture and boxes out at a furious pace. They seemed to start slow then they gained a momentum working in unison. We did not know where Steve disappeared to. We had not seen him for awhile and wondered where he went. My husband and I ventured out to look inside the truck and found Steve our stuff fast and furious. As fast as Mike and Tom were bringing the furniture and boxes out inside the truck Steve was stacking everything floor to ceiling. Our stuff was being put from floor to ceiling. As these walls of furniture and boxes we being put up Steve would instruct Mike and Tom what to bring out to him next This was most impressive. Steve walked through our house once when they first arrived. He had gone room by room and took a mental picture of our furniture. Now Steve was telling Mike and Tom what to bring out to him as hes was putting our things tightly into the truck. Steve was stacking all our furniture that had been prepped with the blankets and basically putting a jigsaw puzzle together. The furniture and boxes were stacked so tight that we could not even get a finger in between. Steve said this is how you do it so that you don't have the furniture moving around as the truck was going down the road. Mke and Tom could not bring the furniture out fast enough. This allowed Steve a little break, but overall it moved like an assembly line. Before we knew it the house was empty and the doors on the truck were closed and down the road they went. We set a time to meet at our new place after lunch. Oh we gave the movers lunch money. We kept track of the estimated time from the Guardian consultant and these guys were getting ahead of the game. They were saving us money. When we arrived to our new place we were early. So was the moving crew. They had the truck pulled up next to the curb, ramp out and the furniture was unwrapped and lined up ready to go into the house. Now all three Steve, Tom and Mike were bring our things into the house and the unloading took 1/2 the time. They put the legs back on and the beds back together. When the bill came to a close these guys came in under the estimated time. We tipped 1/2 the savings. Guardian had estimated a not to exceed cost and the guys came in less time than figured. Also nothing was broke. Guardian is the best move experience we ever had.
