Review 1/23/2011

I am glad I found this link. It will save me quite a bit of time. I already discovered the phone problems when we tried to register the warranty. After a day of calling, we sat down to read the warranty. It plainly states the waiting period as well as the shipping and handling fee. Although we were entitled to the extended warranty free of cost through NBC, we decided that if anything happened to the watch, we probably would not use it.
Well the watch is just great after two years of beating it around, forgetting it was on and swimming, etc. However, the deployment clasp started releasing last month. Knowing the wait for service, I bought a spare Invicta. When I e-mailed Invicta to inquire about replacing the clasp, I got no answer. I do not expect to get one.
After reading the reviews, I will find a local watch repairman and get a replacement clasp. My husband will install it. We have already purchased the tool to remove the clasp for just a few $$.
I love Invicta's watches, but getting an answer on the phone or through e-mail seems to be nearly impossible. VERY frustrating. After hearing the other reviews, I would not feel comfortable sending it to them if I could get through.
I too have seen some of the NBC clips where the host gives incorrect information. Specifically a clip where an NBC hostess said that you can leave the watch on your nightstand and be able to find it in the dark. Anyone with a watch with luminous hands knows they don't glow all night.
Overall, I think they make great watches and NBC presents them well for the most part. However, if you do have a problem, they need to A. clean up their communication issues and wait time. B. If they can't fix the watches correctly under warranty or not, then they should farm the warranty work out to someone who can. There is one big contractor in the US who does the warranty work for at least six watch brands.
