This is the complaint I filed with the Better Business Bureau against WWVL: WWVL did not fulfill the terms of our contract. I provided WWVL with an extensive inventory list, and WWVL estimated the size and weight of the load (1461 cubic feet and 10225 pounds). WWVL did not show up within the 48-hour pickup window, and, when they did show up two days later, they arrived in a truck that was already 2/3 full with other loads. WWVL was unable to fit all of my belongings into the truck, and left the remainder of my belongings at my previous home. When I asked when WWVL would return to pick up the remainder of the load, I was told that it “wasn’t worth the money” to pick up the remainder of my belongings, and that they had already picked up more than the original estimated weight of 10225 pounds. As proof, WWVL showed a truck scale ticket that was for a National Freight truck (not WWVL) which was weighed in Virginia (my house was in Oregon) on 8/9 (my pickup was on 8/20). When the WWVL truck arrived at my new home (a week late), I insisted on a re-weigh. We weighed the truck, unloaded my belongings, and re-weighed it. WWVL had only picked up 7840 pounds of my belongings. I was also charged an additional $530 for wrapping, which, according to our contract, was included in the price. The only reason I paid when the truck arrived was because my attorney informed me that many moving brokers (which WWVL is, but denies) are scam artists, and that, if I ever wanted to see my belongings again, I would give them whatever they asked for to get them to unload the truck.
